Pippa Middleton

Pippa Middleton does big brows right!

If you’ve seen any recent catwalk pics you may have noticed that big brows are back! Well-groomed brows are the name of the game this summer but don’t go too thick or too thin.

Eyebrows are the most under-appreciated feature on your face with arguably the most impact, and we’re huge advocates of anything that supports our case against makeup excess. What better way to lighten the cosmetic load than to let your luscious brows be front and center?

The celebrity of the moment advocating the trend is Pippa Middleton is with her shapely eyebrows that frame her natural face.  Several other celebrities like Leighton Meester and Mary Kate Olsen are all growing out their thin caterpillars for hotter bushier eyebrows  – so don’t over-pluck just to fill it in with a layer of brow powder.

Take the time to shape your brows to get that perfect arch, and use a brow powder to accentuate your existing brows. Super-sculpted and shapely brows are also the perfect complement to some of this summer’s top eye makeup trends.

Peachy Perfect Kristen Bell

Freshen up your look with a tropical eye makeup look featuring peach tones and vibrant pinks!

Kristen Bell knows how to keep it au natural for summer with peach eyeshadow followed by a light apricot liner. By using a light colored pencil instead of your usual black or brown, your eyes will look brighter and natural!

To do, prime lids with concealer or foundation, then using a firm patting motion apply peach or beige eyeshadow all over the lid. Apply pink eyehshadow to the outside corners of the eyes in a horizontal v-shape and blend well into the crease.

Line 3/4′s of the upper lashline with a dark kohl pencil and smudge. Finish off with mascara and don’t forget a quick mist of Skindinavia’s No More Shine Makeup Finishing as your setting spray for makeup that lasts all day!

Diane Kruger Smokey Brown Eyes

Diane Kruger Skindinavia

Diane Kruger goes summer sultry!

Diane Kruger’s sultry smoky brown eye is a main-stay staple for every gal on the go – and its an easy option that’ll highlight your bronzed summer skin.

Especially great for blondes, this look enhances the eyes and can be worn night or day. Her eyes are subtle, yet sculpted with a taupe shadow that she swept along the brow bone.

  1. Begin by carefully lining the top and bottom of the eyes with a dark brown liner. Soften the lines by gently smudging with a fingertip or cotton swab.
  2. Line the top and bottom of the eyes next with a matte brown eye shadow using a small brush. Stay close to the eyes, and blend out toward the crease. The color should be in a chocolate or lighter cocoa color. Stay away from red- or pink-toned browns which might give you a sickly look and highlight the red in your eyes.
  3. Dust the eyelid with a lighter color. Look for a shimmery shadow in gold.
  4. Finish with volumizing waterproof mascara on the eyelashes.
  5. Use softer shades of makeup on the lips and cheeks so nothing will compete with the dramatic eyes. Soft and light nude shades look best.

Behind the Beauty Buzz: Skindinavia’s Crush on YouTube’s xSparkage

Posted in Celebrity Beauty & Style, Celebrity Makeup, Featured, Tip Of The Week on July 13th, 2011 by mcorriston

Leesha, AKA xSparkage, creates video tutorials that are easy enough for the everyday gal!

YouTube beauty guru, Leesha, also known as xSparkage, knows a thing or two about makeup meltdowns. Her secret weapon? Skindinavia’s makeup setting sprays.

“Not only do they set your makeup and keep everything in place, but they’re also super refreshing for days that are near boiling points,” she says.

Leesha’s crush on cosmetics began in the heart of all things beauty: Hollywood. On vacation in L.A. while in high school, Leesha visited the MAC Pro Store where her friend’s aunt worked as a makeup artist.

“I remember first walking in to the store and being completely blown away with everything,” she says. “The makeup, the colors, the beautiful sales associates.”

From there, Leesha checked out some online makeup communities to hone her skills. As the brain—and beauty—behind xSparkage, Leesha shares advice with thousands of girls. But she says it came as a total surprise when she became a YouTube sensation, receiving hundreds of comments and thousands of views the same day she posts a new video.

“I think the best part of sharing beauty tips is when I receive emails from guys and girls who tell me how much I have helped them improve their look,” she explains, “it’s so cool that I’m able to teach so many people, and have them tell me that what I do has helped them personally.”

The biggest mistake people make, she says, is forgetting to be sanitary with their cosmetics. She recommends cleaning brushes regularly and purchasing powder puffs twice a month to avoid major breakouts from oily tools.

Her favorite look? A dark kohl – and long-lasting! – eyeliner look. For a night out, she dips her eyeliner pencil in a matte black gel liner before tracing her waterline. “It makes the liner super dark and stays hour longer than a black eyeliner pencil on its own,” she exclaims, “and it’s really easy to apply!”
